TAGA PC-9000DC - Power Cleaner

TAGA PC-9000DC cleans your power and combines four functions in one unit: filtering of power noise, blocking of DC components, linear power supply to USB ports, and protection against overvoltage and overload for all power outlets and USB ports.

FILTERING OF POWER NOISE

The electrical grid in our homes and workplaces is affected by various disturbances, such as electromagnetic interference (EMI) from devices connected to the same network – think refrigerators, air conditioning, or computers. These disturbances come not only from your own household or office but also from other devices in the building or even from outside. They can vary depending on the time of day or week, when the load on the electrical grid shifts. This noise can sneak into the alternating current and disrupt your system. So-called "dirty" electricity can degrade the performance of your audio and video system.

With the PC-9000, you effectively reduce this disturbing noise and protect your system from contaminated power.

Contaminated electricity also negatively affects the internal circuits and power supplies in your equipment. The PC-9000DC acts as a barrier between the wall outlet and your devices, which can extend the lifespan of the components.

The unit has separate groups of switched and unswitched 230V–240V outlets (Schuko type) with four independent filters, tailored for each group and adapted for specific audio and video equipment.

• Each outlet group has its own SQ inductor for common mode noise.
• High-quality, oxygen-free, and flat copper wire with enamel coating.
• Low DC resistance, uniform electric field, and minimal capacitance for better filtering of high-frequency EMI.

• 18AWG oxygen-free copper wires (primary AWM 1672, secondary AWM 1007) for optimal conductivity.
• Oxygen-free copper wires (AWM 1015 16AWG) connect the mainboard to the outlets.

DC BLOCKER

The built-in DC blocker reduces or eliminates unwanted direct current in the voltage to selected outlets. Direct current can cause buzzing sounds and increase the temperature of transformers, which degrades sound quality. With the blocker, your audio and video devices operate more quietly and efficiently, and mains hum in speakers is significantly reduced.

The DC blocker can be activated in real time for selected 230V–240V outlet groups.

• Turn it on or off directly to optimize the sound experience.
• Powerful blocking of up to 12,000 mV (12V) direct current.
• 10 high-frequency high-power bridges and 2 x 47,000 µF capacitors provide effective blocking without compromising sound quality.

LINEAR POWER SUPPLY FOR USB PORTS

Many DC-powered devices use simple, inexpensive external adapters with switched-mode power supplies. These operate at high frequencies, which can create electrical interference that spreads to the devices and even affects other appliances via the power grid. Such noise significantly degrades audio and video performance. The solution? A high-quality linear power supply like the one in PC-DC, which provides an immediate and clear improvement in the sound of your DC-powered devices.

The built-in toroidal transformer for the source units also provides stable power to the USB ports.
Three-stage filtration:

• Step I & II (230–240V): initial filtering via the unit's noise filter and then via the isolating transformer.
• Stage III (DC voltage): custom filtering, including high-frequency EMI filter for 5V output, separate for the USB ports.

SILVER-COATED AND COPPER-BASED INTERNAL CABLES

Internal cables between the motherboard and the sockets (230V–240V and USB) are made of silver-plated, 99.99% pure oxygen-free copper with Teflon insulation.
Cables for power inlets and switches (Power, Phase, Reset) are AWM 1015 14AWG in oxygen-free copper.
Analog and digital indicators use double-insulated AWM 1672 22AWG oxygen-free copper wires.

SURGE AND OVERLOAD PROTECTION

PC-9000 protects all outputs against overvoltage and overload.

• Step I: filtration and protection system with resettable circuit breaker.
• Stage II (USB): primary protection with isolating transformer, step-down regulator, high-frequency EMI filtering for 5V, as well as short-circuit and thermal protection.

OTHER FEATURES

• Analog voltage indicator with selectable lighting shows the stability of the wall outlet voltage.
• Digital display for voltage (V), current (mA/A), and power (W) in real time, with shutdown option.
• Phase detection and polarity selector warn of incorrect phase and make it easy to correct.
• IEC C14 inlet and detachable Schuko-IEC C13 cable provide the option to upgrade to a premium cable.
