Supra LoRad mkII, 3 x 2.5 mm2 power cable
LoRad is an abbreviation of Low Radiation, which means low radiation. Radiation is a summary of several different concepts, where a network cable actually both exposes and is exposed by its environment, regarding magnetic fields, alternating voltage fields, and electromagnetic fields. LoRad is a patented cable design that combines the regular network cable with the considerations that must be taken into account for audio use. The properties have also proven valuable in the medical world and in air traffic control towers, where doctors' and air traffic controllers' sensitive equipment must not be disturbed at all. Last but not least, Supra Lorad is used in electrical remediation for electro-sensitive individuals. It is scientifically proven that magnetic fields affect cell growth, and the more potent the installation is, the greater the current it draws from the network, and the consequence of current is magnetic fields.

The emitted interference field is reduced by two techniques; firstly, the shield that reduces both emitted disturbances as well as surrounding ones, and secondly, the cable's conductors which are spun with a steep rise to reduce inductance, resulting in low both outward and captured magnetic fields. Particularly RF (radio frequencies) have a tendency to infiltrate the audio system, resulting in a higher baseline noise (noise floor). One might think that the power supply parts of the HiFi system are well shielded due to its transformer, but it often turns out that a toroidal transformer has been chosen, which is particularly sensitive to RF leakage due to what is called current capacitance. The best method is to connect your devices with Supras LoRad series of power supplies to a shielded grounded wall outlet.

The biggest difference in the mkII version is Supra's unique semi-conductive nylon shield that connects via a ground conductor. The shield provides better shielding, stronger bending and tensile strength, as well as a often overlooked property, low self-noise. A cable subjected to external physical influence can lead this in the form of disturbances in the signal. LoRad has shown the lowest disturbance impact measured in tests. LoRad mkII is tested and certified by Intertek in Sweden and meets the European safety standard HD21.5 S3.

NOTE! Supra LoRad must be connected to a grounded wall outlet for the cable's shielding effect and for the LoRad connection strip's filter and shielding to function.
