Supra LoRad DC-BLOCKER is a power filter that removes direct current (DC) that should not be present in the mains voltage. It is easily connected before the existing distribution box.
Note that the connection socket in the DC filter is for 16 Amperes.

DC voltage should not be present on the mains voltage. Nevertheless, more and more DC is being measured as an increasing number of asymmetric electrical consumers are connected in homes. Being environmentally conscious and choosing only LED bulbs, for example, leads to asymmetry in the power grid. Of course, we should not stop being energy-efficient and environmentally conscious, but we should develop products that filter out the unwanted disturbances for sensitive equipment. See the figure below as an illustration of what a DC component means on the power grid.

This DC component degrades the performance and linearity of power supply components in multimedia and hi-fi devices. For example, it causes the iron core of transformers to saturate. Furthermore, it generates unnecessary heat and can even cause the transformer to physically hum. Thanks to reduced heat generation, a DC filter can help increase lifespan. Audibly, the filter has demonstrated dramatically improved sound and removes noises/interferences that do not come from the recording. In other words, you listen to the music and not the irregularities contained in the mains voltage.

The rated current is high at 16 Amperes, allowing for a maximum transferred power of up to 3,680 Watts! The connection cable is, as usual, an accessory, so you can avoid additional extension cables by being able to choose the right length from the start. Note that the connection socket in the DC filter is for 16 Amperes.

Note. The DC filter does NOT dampen the dynamics! A very common reaction is that when something is removed from a familiar sound/music, you miss it. Often, the actual sound is much leaner and not as boomy. This can often be mistaken for a lack of dynamics. Dynamics is the difference between the music's loudest and softest tones, and when the system goes quiet, the dynamics actually increase! There are no components in the filter that dampen increased power requirements.

Important! When connecting and disconnecting Supras DC filter, or switching in an associated distribution list, it is important that this starts with unplugging the power cable from the wall socket. It always is, and here in particular! Always allow all charge to drain from the devices from stand-by until the LEDs have turned off on all devices. Only then may further in-/out-/switching take place. The reason is, as mentioned, that any remaining charge in the devices and in the DC filter should be discharged. Supra does not believe that it is sufficient to break with any switch.
