The Marantz Model 50 is a well-made and good-sounding analog stereo amplifier that offers 2 channels and has an output power of 2 x 70 watts at 8 ohms, class A/B.
"The amplifier has Marantz HDAM SA-3 circuits, a powerful power supply, dedicated Phono input, discrete headphone amplifier, and tone controls on the front. Model 50 has six analog inputs, including a high-quality MM Phono input."

The construction quality is high with carefully selected components.
The amplifier is completely analog, which eliminates the influence from digital circuits.
A dedicated turntable input uses Marantz Musical Phono EQ stage with double-stage amplification and HDAM technology to enhance the purity of the signal.
The volume control is electronic and has high precision over a wide volume spectrum.
The amplifier has dual speaker outputs (A + B) and also offers the option to use it as a power amplifier for home theater projects.

Model 50 also includes a discrete headphone amplifier with HDAM SA-2 circuits for efficient driving of headphones with warm, clear, and airy sound. It uses Marantz Current Feedback Amplification and Hyper Dynamic Amplifier Modules (HDAM) to meet the demands of high-resolution music with wide bandwidth and fast reproduction. The HDAM circuits, which are custom-designed components, are said to outperform traditional op-amps in audio performance and signal handling.
