Magnetar UDP-800 MKII - Blu-ray player
Magnetar UDP-800 MKII is a reference-class universal Blu-ray player designed for both movies and music. It supports 4K UHD Blu-ray, Blu-ray 3D, SACD, DVD-Audio, and CD, combining high-quality picture with a carefully engineered analog audio section and Roon Ready for network playback.
The second generation features updated audio boards with seven OPA1602 op-amps, improved HDMI audio handling with TMDS retiming to keep jitter in check, and an optimized USB 3.0 system with isolated power supply. Two Burr-Brown PCM1795 D/A converters drive both balanced XLR outputs and standard RCA outputs.
With support for HDR10+, Dolby Vision, Dolby Atmos, and DTS:X, the player delivers a modern home theater experience, while the separate HDMI audio output sends up to 7.1-channel PCM or 5.1-channel DSD onward without quality loss. For pure stereo and for those who collect SACD and DVD-Audio, it is a fully capable source even in high-end systems.
