Aune N5 EVO is a network-based music player and streamer in a compact format, designed for audiophiles who want high-performance audio reproduction. Here, modern streaming technology meets reference-class sound quality in an architecture reminiscent of a traditional CD player, but with a focus on digital decoding. A dedicated CPU handles only audio restoration, resulting in a clean, short signal path without unnecessary interference.

- DAC and Processor: Built around an ESS9039Q2M DAC chip, an NXP Cortex-M7 processor, and an Intel FPGA for precise signal processing. FIFO technology combined with dual internal PLL generators keeps jitter low and delivers smooth, detailed reproduction.
- High-Resolution Audio Support: Supports PCM up to 32-bit/768 kHz and DSD up to DSD512 on the analog output. For digital outputs, PCM up to 24-bit/192 kHz (coaxial/optical) and up to 32-bit/384 kHz/DSD256 (I2S) are supported. Local file formats include DSD, APE (up to 192 kHz/24-bit), FLAC (up to 384 kHz/32-bit), WAV, MP3, WMA, AAC, ALAC, AIFF, and CUE.
- Wireless Connectivity: Bluetooth 5.1 with a Qualcomm QCC5125 module, plus support for aptX HD and LDAC, enabling near-lossless wireless transmission at up to 990 kbps. Wi-Fi (2.4G) enables streaming from services such as AirPlay 2, Spotify, Tidal, Deezer, Qobuz, Amazon Music, and NetEase Cloud.
- Inputs and Outputs: Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and 2× USB drives for local playback. Outputs include balanced XLR, unbalanced RCA (analog), I2S, coaxial (RCA), optical Toslink, and a BNC input for an external 10 MHz clock for improved timing precision.
