Supra LoRad mkII, 3 x 1.5 mm2 power cable
LoRad is an abbreviation of Low Radiation, which means low radiation. Radiation is a summary of several different concepts, where a power cable actually both exposes and is exposed by its surroundings, in terms of magnetic fields, AC fields and electromagnetic fields. LoRad is a patented cable design that combines the standard mains cable with the considerations that must be taken into account in audio applications. These features have also proved valuable in the medical world and in air traffic control towers, where the sensitive equipment of doctors and air traffic controllers must not be disturbed at all. Last, but not least, the Supra Lorad is used in the electrical decontamination of electrically sensitive people. It is scientifically proven that magnetic fields affect cell growth and the more potent the device, the more power it draws from the grid and the consequence of power is magnetic fields.

Customer benefits in brief
  • LoRad provides low magnetic fields, low electric and electromagnetic alternating fields resulting in low interference and low health impact (research shows that cell growth is affected by magnetic fields).
  • The unique feature of the LoRad cable is its shielding, which achieves exceptionally low leakage and interference absorption.
  • Conductors spun with a steep pitch for even lower magnetic fields
  • The noise floor of the HiFi system, often lowered by several dB, reveals the micro-dynamics of the music and provides both cleaner sound and lots of new small details
  • Reducing the total interference absorption of your HiFi system, as we like to say, gives the old record collection a whole new life of details in the music that have never been heard before.

Emitted interference fields are reduced by two techniques; the shield which reduces both emitted interference as well as ambient interference and the cable's conductor which is spun with a steep pitch to reduce inductance, resulting in low outward as well as absorbed magnetic fields. RF (high frequency radio frequencies) in particular tend to find their way into the sound system, resulting in higher background noise (noise floor). You may think that the HiFi system's power supply is well shielded by its transformer, but it often turns out that you have chosen a toroidal transformer which is particularly sensitive to RF transmission due to what is called current capacitance. The best method is to connect your devices with Supra's LoRad series of power supplies in a grounded wall outlet.

The main difference in the mkII version is Supra's unique semi-conductive nylon shield that connects via a grounding conductor. The screen provides better shielding, stronger bending and tensile strength, and an often overlooked feature, low intrinsic microphony. A cable exposed to external physical impact can introduce this in the form of interference in the signal. In tests, LoRad has shown the lowest interference impact measured. LoRad mkII is tested and certified by Intertek in Sweden and meets the European safety standard HD21.5 S3.

NOTE! The Supra LoRad must be connected to a grounded wall outlet in order for the shielding effect of the cable(s), as well as the filter and shielding of the LoRad connection strips, to work.

Buy&Try applies to the entire Aune, Auralic, Quadral, Sbooster & Taga range.

Buy & try gives you as a customer the opportunity to try out the product in your own home environment, instead of standing in a stressful store and trying to form an opinion. Rooms behave very differently and affect the sound in different ways and we give you the opportunity to demo the product for a full 30 days, in your own home.

If for some reason you feel dissatisfied, just contact us and we will help you with the return shipping, you can also take advantage of our shipping agreements with lower prices. Costs that will be charged to the customer are the shipping to the customer and the return shipping to us at MYC HiFi. For return approval, the item must be returned in new condition and in the original packaging.

Regarding speakers, be aware that speakers may need a long recording time to come into their own. After a couple of hours you can usually get a taste of what to expect, but a speaker deserves 100h+ before serious listening. The speakers we sell with ribbon tweeters need several hundred hours before they start to sing. So feel free to leave the speakers on around the clock so you can quickly accumulate hours.

If you have any questions or concerns, do not hesitate to contact us.

  • Buy & Try applies to goods that are normally kept in stock and not to order goods, unless otherwise agreed.

We provide at least a 2-year warranty on all products, some products have up to a 5-year warranty. With this, you avoid expensive insurances and can feel safe as a customer. In case of problems during the warranty period, contact us and we will solve it quickly and smoothly.
