Supra LoRad DC-BLOCKER MD01-16-EU Mk3.1

Supra MD-01 MK3.1 is a mains filter that removes direct current (DC) voltage that should not be present on the mains voltage. It is easily connected before the existing distribution box.
Note that the connection socket in the DC filter is for 16 Ampere.

Features and benefits:
  • Removes DC voltage from the mains supply - Effectively reduces the noise floor of the system
  • Sleeker bass response - improved rhythms, dynamics and faster transients.
  • Suppresses transformer hum - No annoying hum from the units
  • Reduces heat build-up in the transformer - Can contribute to increased service life
  • Filters up to 3.6 VDC - Prepared for future electrical items that create DC voltage
  • Better dynamics - provides clearer rhythm and tone especially in the bass range
  • Contributes to correct reference voltages - best possible analog conversion out of DAC chip
  • Made in Sweden! - In accordance with Supra No-Nonsense approach

Direct current (DC) should not be present on the mains voltage. Despite this, more and more DC is measured as more and more asymmetrical electricity consumers in homes are connected. Being environmentally conscious and choosing only LED lights, for example, gives rise to asymmetry in the grid. Of course, we should not stop being energy-efficient and environmentally conscious, but we should develop products that filter the unwanted interference for sensitive equipment. See the figure below as an illustration of what a DC component means on the power grid.

Fig.1) DC component on the AC voltage (disproportionate illustrative figure)

This DC component degrades the performance and linearity of the power supplies of multimedia and hi-fi devices. For example, it causes saturation of the iron core of transformers. Furthermore, it produces unnecessary heat generation and can even cause the transformer to physically hum. Thus, thanks to the reduction of heat generation, a DC filter can help increase the lifespan. In terms of sound, the filter has demonstrated dramatically improved sound and peels away the noise/interference that does not come from the recording. In other words, you are listening to the music and not the irregularities of the mains voltage.

Again, the Supra leads the way with an effective DC filter that, by being secured for the DC part of future electrical appliances, stops up to 3.6 VDC already at the launch. It is very easy to use, you simply put it in series before the existing distribution box. The filter works without protective earth, but we always recommend connecting equipment that is recommended to be grounded to protective earth.

The rated current is high 16 Amps, which allows for maximum transmitted power up to 3,680 Watts! The connection cable is as usual an accessory, so you can avoid additional extension cables by being able to choose the right length from the start. Note that the connection socket in the DC filter is for 16 Amps.

Note. The DC filter does NOT dampen the dynamics! A very common reaction is that when something is removed from a familiar sound/music, you miss it. Often the actual sound is much slimmer and not as noisy. This can often be mistaken for a lack of dynamics. Dynamics are the difference between the strongest and weakest notes in music, and when the system is quiet, the dynamics actually increase! There are no components in the filter that dampen the increased power demand.

Important! When connecting and disconnecting Supra's DC filter, or switching in an associated distribution strip, it is important that this starts by pulling the supply cable from the wall socket. It always is, and here in particular! Always let all charging unplug the units from stand-by until the LEDs on all units have gone out. Only then can further switching on/off/switching take place. The reason is that the remaining charge in the units and in the DC filter should discharge. The Supra does not believe that it is sufficient to disconnect with any switch.

Note!
No power cable is included.
For MD-01 MK3.1 you need power cable with connector CS-16 for 16A connection.

Buy&Try applies to the entire Aune, Auralic, Quadral, Sbooster & Taga range.

Buy & try gives you as a customer the opportunity to try out the product in your own home environment, instead of standing in a stressful store and trying to form an opinion. Rooms behave very differently and affect the sound in different ways and we give you the opportunity to demo the product for a full 30 days, in your own home.

If for some reason you feel dissatisfied, just contact us and we will help you with the return shipping, you can also take advantage of our shipping agreements with lower prices. Costs that will be charged to the customer are the shipping to the customer and the return shipping to us at MYC HiFi. For return approval, the item must be returned in new condition and in the original packaging.

Regarding speakers, be aware that speakers may need a long recording time to come into their own. After a couple of hours you can usually get a taste of what to expect, but a speaker deserves 100h+ before serious listening. The speakers we sell with ribbon tweeters need several hundred hours before they start to sing. So feel free to leave the speakers on around the clock so you can quickly accumulate hours.

If you have any questions or concerns, do not hesitate to contact us.

  • Buy & Try applies to goods that are normally kept in stock and not to order goods, unless otherwise agreed.

We provide at least a 2-year warranty on all products, some products have up to a 5-year warranty. With this, you avoid expensive insurances and can feel safe as a customer. In case of problems during the warranty period, contact us and we will solve it quickly and smoothly.
